2022 Update: Moving to Japan Soon

Last month, I finally obtained my visa to Japan and will move there in early January.

This will allow me to remain there for a year and do as I please (visiting lots of historical locations, learning more Japanese, staying in Tokugawa Ieyasu's birthplace for probably too long and writing more posts about the Bakumatsu are all in the list).

I have so many Bakumatsu-related places I want to explore and learn from in order to prepare for my PhD! I think historical places are such a good way to start learning about events and link them to the political and cultural events that represent the backdrop of turning points in Bakumatsu history.
